Welcome to Sugar Water Manor. We are so excited you found us. We have three lodging options on our property and each is wonderful in its own way. They all share our 70 acres allowing our guests to safely be able to use all of our amenities at the same time, social distanced. Sugar Water Manor is the perfect place to explore the Eastern Shore, MD.
When we built and designed each area we did so to incorporate the most amount space for each guest as possible. For example, at the pool we designed three separate sitting areas on each side of the large pool and it is designated for each lodge. The fire pit is a 16x16 space allowing each guest to enjoy ample space if all are there at the same time. In addition, the maximize number of guest on the property is 12 at anytime.
During this time when we all need to social distance and miss our friends and family, Sugar Water Manor gives you plenty of space to gather outside or on screened porches with fresh air to allow for social distanced gathering and lots of air hugs.
Here is a bit about each of our lodges at Sugar Water Manor:
The Loft
Maximum number of total guests - 2
Perfect for a solo retreat or couples getaway
Bedrooms - The Loft is a studio space with a king bed, rocking chair, table with 2 chairs
Bathrooms - One large bathroom with a full size shower
Kitchen - While there is no kitchen in The Loft, there is a mini-fridge, microwave (the only one on property) and there is a grill outside of the Apiary Workshop you may ask to be set up.
Location - The Loft is located above the Apiary Workshop attached to Lodge Two, The Homestead. The view from the table at the window is of the barn, farmland and river.
Please note: The Loft is not appropriate for infants or children. It has open steps from The Loft and the steps are a curved. Also beware you may not ever want to leave!
Our suggestion: If you are staying with us Monday-Friday you can order dinner to be delivered from Squeaky’s. Also pack up a dinner to cook at the fire pit! We suggest foil packets pre-filled and ready for the grill. For lunches you can pack items to keep in the refrigerator (it is small but mighty and has a small freezer).
The Homestead (Lodge 2)
Maximum number of total guests - 4
Perfect for a family of 2,3, or 4; a couple or a friends getaway; 2 couples
Bedrooms - The Homestead has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed. One bedroom is a little bigger. The bigger bedroom has wonderful views of the farm, gardens and the river. The sleigh bed bedroom has a window that looks over the Apiary Workshop and you can see the farm fields next door.
Bathrooms - There is one small new bathroom on the second floor. There is a full size shower, small sink and toilet and it has a great view of the gardens and river.
Kitchen - The Homestead has a full kitchen with a separate dining room table for 4. As well as a separate living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you should need including basic spices, olive oil and vinegar. Coffee and tea are also stocked.
Location - The Homestead is located between the Big Barn and Clifton (our historic home). In the front yard is the smokehouse and the screened in porch on the back has river and garden views. There is not a bad view in the house.
Be aware - The barn cats Magpie and Charlie hang out at The Homestead. Charlie may request you allow her to come sit on your lap on the screened porch.
Our suggestion - Allow plenty of time to relax on the porch, as it's perfect place for morning coffee or tea and an evening cocktail. Whoever gets dish duty is the winner after dinner thanks to the wonderful sunset views from the sink.
The Farm House (Lodge 1)
Maximum number of total guests - 6
Perfect for- A family of up to 6; a couple or friends getaway; 2 couples
Bedrooms - The Farm House has 2 bedrooms with queen beds and one with a king bed. All have amazing views and plenty of room.
Bathrooms - There is a new full bathroom with a full shower on the second floor and a new half bath off of the living room.
Kitchen - The Farm House has a full eat in kitchen. The table is set for 4 but can expand for 6. There is also a very large dining room table that will seat up to 10. So if your group stays in all 3 of our properties, the dining room is perfect to gather for meals together. There is a separate living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you should need including basic spices, olive oil and vinegar. Coffee and tea are also stocked.
Location - The Farm House is located across from the Big Barn behind the small barn. The front yard and screened in porch overlook the gardens and river. The porch includes a table that will open to sit 6. There is not a bad view in the house.
Be aware - The Farm House sits on the edge of our wetlands. The backyard can often be very wet as it is affected by the tides. But the deer and hawks love to gather in the backyard.
Our suggestion - Allow plenty of time to relax on the porch because it is perfect place for morning coffee or tea and an evening cocktail.
